Maybe what we need is an article that is broader, and includes all places in Dublin where good beer can be found. Not wishing to make this a "Dublin" site, of course. Then again, would such an article include only PH and B&C? Any other suggestions? It could include the better off licences as well.

It's that kind of thing a wiki would be great for, especially given how quickly places come and go. Is that a runner?

There are plans for something that would achieve something like this in terms of creating a searchable directory of bars submitted by users and reviewed by users, with defined criteria to allow other users quickly see what is a good bar (in ICB terms). See the focus here? Users! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

This is planned to include bars and off licenses (seperate criteria of course) and the component we have been testing is capable of dealing with anything really. In theory we could have reviews for equipment, web sites, books, whatever users would find useful.

No plans for a Wiki yet.

Nice article. Great to see this new website - discerning drinkers are finally being furnished with a quality information source on good Irish beer. Not to mention the fact that the beer itself is being developed by more and more small brewers.

I visited the Bull & Castle recently and loved the place. I think it is the first time I ever had a conversation with a well-informed barman about beer. They are great people and I think the effort they went to for the real glasses shows how serious they are about making it work.

I hear they have Galway Hooker on tap now. Tried it in Galway recently and loved it - looking forward to having a taste in the Bull and Castle. Keep up the good work...
