Saw "MGW" stout (Major General White stout) on tap in Lough Eske Hotel today - also known as Solis.

Didn't get a chance to ask the bar tender about it... Anyone know if it's a re badging, and if so, of what...?[/quote:35qwkwuw]
Probably rye river solas stout 4.5%

Doubt it. Solis is the name of the hotel company. Solas is exclusive to Tesco.

Curious. Can you give an example or two?

Sean's Stout in Sean's Bar in Athlone is Beamish, as far as I'm aware. I think the house stout sold at The Mezz in Temple Bar is too, but I don't know if that's still a thing.

The lager was Clonmel so I guess if it were Beamish, another C&C offering, it would make sense. Asked bar tender but he either didn't know or wasn't telling.

I know this isn't the thread for it but I feel I can't overlook mentioning they were selling 330ml 8 Degrees for an eye watering €7.50 and 500ml Donegal Brewing Co. for a cool €9.80 a bottle.

Beamish is owned by Heineken.
