Possibly infected Kinsale Black IPA ? 11 years 1 week ago #1

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone noticed something similar with current batch of Black IPA from Blacks of Kinsale brewery. It has this tangy/tart/funky smell and has kind of plasticky aftertase with harsh bitterness lingering for quite a while.

I bought 2 bottles one week apart in O'Briens in Naas. Both were the same. I will try to get one elsewhere to see if it will be similar.

If you have a bottle handy you could check the batch number and maybe give Blacks an email.

Have a bottle in the house myself that I can check later but it's about a month or two old so probably a different batch.

Cans were terrible too, down the sink for me

Cans in Killarney were perfect so a batch issue perhaps. KPA I take it? Haven't seen the Black IPA in cans.
Or does the OP mean Black's KPA is bad? Not the Black IPA?

It is the Black IPA in bottles aka cascadian dark ale , not the KPA. Unfortunately I don't have the bottles anymore so can't check the batch number.

Hi Pete, welcome to the forum, i would be interested in batch numbers or even exp date on the bottle effected if you have them, you can contact us with any issues directly at <!-- e --><a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. DCBrewing We have only canned a single batch of KPA, we have not noticed any issue with any cans to date (and i have been drinking quite a few) Perhaps you can advise where and when you got them and i can work out if we can sample from the same case load?
