Starting a brewery: the megathread 14 years 1 month ago #127

I think Dave Porters[/url:3jmsp8d2] site is a useful starting point. He's based in the UK and I'm sure things will be different, but there's lots of good information.
He also has a very competitive range of breweries that could easily cater for what you seem to be talking about

I think there are equipment manufacturers in Italy even. Celli taps and accessories are made there for example.

The Italian microbrewers have their own association too.

Thanks folks, some interesting links there. Cheers! I'd seen that PBC site before but it's the only website I can find dedicated to equiping breweries.

So if someone were considering starting up and was looking for a 10 step to do list what would it look like? Besides the obvious number one. Love I'm jacking in work and opening a brewery. By far the hardest on the list.

I'd say that you'd be better off not starting with that as number one! Maybe get a bit of the work done before you spring that one on the boss! I'd be also interested in us having a nice list of: "this is how easy it is"! I'm sure it's not quite that straight forward... or is it?!

Building a brewery for dummies would be great.
Other that that any hints or tips the already founded brewery could give could be great.
Business plan and grant applications
BBL tax rates
overheads (Water/gas / elec)
Bonds
Premises renovations and compliance with EPA etc.
Spent Grains removal
I'm sure there is at least a hundred more questions that need to be addressed.
Oh headache already.
