Last I checked it was 40 that meet our definition with another dozen likely to open in the coming months.

This is what I told the National Geographic recently

That 40 is likely out of date now and that was only 2 weeks ago. Rye River is probably operational by now, though unlikely to have any Irish produced beer on the market yet.

I'm reviewing that list as part of a project I'm working on, (adding from other sources as well). My list may contain some breweries that haven't opened yet (and I haven't yet pull the data to differentiate these), but here's the numbers:

Craft Breweries (Ireland): 48 (including 15 contractor brewers)
Craft Breweries (N. Ireland): 12 (including 3 contractor brewers)

Non-craft Breweries (Ireland): 7 (including 3 contractor brewers)
Non-craft Breweries (N. Ireland): 1 (including 1 contractor brewer)

Ratebeer has (currently producing):
50 (Ireland) (10 contract, 5 non craft)
15 (Northern Ireland) (3 contract, 2 non craft)

Cider:
Ireland 13 (3 non craft)

Northern Ireland 9

Rye rivers new stout is made in kilcock

Rye River: All our draft beers have been produced in kilcock for the last month.

Packaged filtering through to market now too.
