Killaloe Beer Festival 18 years 1 week ago #1

Alison from Tara's Speciality Beer House in Killaloe is holding a beer festival from 2 to 6 July. She is hoping to also hold a competition for homebrewed beers on the afternoon of Saturday 5 July. The exact format is yet to be decided but if there's interest no better place than here to discuss it.

As a preliminary idea, beers would be broken to down into X number of categories (depending on number of entries) and three judges would select the winners.

She has asked me to be on the panel, which I have agreed to - since it gives me the opportunity to turn the tables and judge your beers <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Perhaps we could have one judge from ICB - one without an entry. The final judge could then be from some other field - i.e. a beer writer/critic.

She hopes to also get some new and unusual commercial beers in for the event and will soon let us know what will be available.

What do you think?

Sounds like a great event to me. Is Killaloe ready for an an ICB influx?

[quote:107vrcnh]All Grain Extract or both[/quote:107vrcnh]I would imagine how you make the beer would be irrelevant. It's the end result that matters.
