Can those mini kegs be refilled?

18 years 1 month ago #20

i reckon they can, and I hope to do so. My only concern is cleaning properly. One of those little tiny cameras like Attenborough uses on his documentaries for seeing into snakes dens would come in handy for this <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Had a look in Lidl this morning. Looks like a degree in obstetrics's would be needed to clean and reuse those big tins. Me thinks better to stick with bottles and perhaps invest in a beer fridge.

What about the valve on top, do you need new ones.
If so, where can one get them ??

Shane from the HomebrewCompany can get them, I ordered some from him, he should get them this week or the next one. You can get normal valves (rubber bungs, basically) or pressure release ones if you plan on priming the minikegs and are worried about them exploding/ getting bloated

I'm sure you can also reuse the rubber ones where you push the centre bit into the keg - just get it out, clean well and reassemble the outer and inner...
