Rumour has it they've been bought by Jameson(Pernod Ricard). Anyone know the craic?

Only that I've heard the same rumour. Seems to be that Pernod Ricard is definitely buying a Cork brewery, and it's very likely 8 Degrees.

Do you still have your black marker from the great Fran Well delete of 2013?

Here's an interesting one for us though, to my knowledge, Pernod Ricard does not own any breweries, only distilleries and some wine brands.

That means that unless 8 Degrees(TBC) goes over the threshold of 40,000 hectolitres of beer and/or cider per year, they might technically still be under our remit as our constitution currently reads.

We'll see how John reads it but we've been so focused on other breweries buying breweries, we never thought about a distillery group.

They might technically still get the revenue microbrewery deal because again, they are independent of any other brewery. They never thought about distillery groups either from their wording.

If it's an outright 100% purchase they become a French company not an Irish one and would therefore fall outside our remit. The same rule applies to Station Works because it's American-owned.

Confirmed.
