Mead 17 years 2 days ago #1

Never tried it before and to be honest up until recently didnt even know what it was. I was just wondering is it sold commercially in Ireland, I'd love to try it before brewing some

Bunratty Mead[/url:33oyxjdp] is probably the most well known Irish mead available (warning: ghastly website!). I bought a small bottle on holiday in Clare recently. I reckon it'd make a lovely desert drink.

After a very tipsy visit to bunratty, my filipino sister in law fell in love with it!
Anyways, after trapsing Dublin looking for more of it before she flew home, found bunratty meade in that posh shop on nassau street, I think it's called kilkenny?

Bunratty is not a real mead: it's a pyment -- honey wine.

AFAIK, the only commercial mead in Ireland is Rabbit's Foot from California. There's a sweet one and a dry one, and they're lovely. Last place I saw them for sale was in Lilac Wines in Fairview.
