I almost managed to get one of these. Couple of years back was in chatting to a barman and he gave me the phone number of the head brewer. Feckin fone was stolen before I got to call him though. I'd defo be up for it. It;s in blanchardstown.

oh yeah please do.... i'd be well up for it. Also i wonder if they could organise some sort of a brewing course - I'd love do a course in it - diploma or cert or whatever - had a look around, don't see much - there's one in the uk i think

The University of Sunderland offer a short 3 day course for £570 which I plan to do shortly. They also have a diploma course which last a few months but it costs around £6000. The short course is booked up for April but there's another one on in August. It is shame that there is nothing like this in Ireland considering this country produces one of the best known beers in the world. I suspect this will change over the next decade or so. DCU has a pilot brewery, I think. They cover basic fermentation technology as part of their biotechnology degree.

I'm all set to do the short course in April. Course, flight and B&B, all booked and paid for.

The university of Sunderland is actually quite a handy place to get to, from Dublin. You can fly directly into Newcastle and the airport is on the same (Tyne and Wear) metro system as Sunderland. There is even a stop right outside the university.

I know some people that brewed as part of the Industrial Biochemistry course, also cork brew a light beer a few years ago as part of the food tech course.
