Tried brew dog's 'sink the bismarck' pale ale last night. A 41% alc beer. It smells alright but man is it hard to drink. Anyone ever have it before

Yeah, I thought it was quite good. Surprisingly so. A little bit cough-mixturish, but quite drinkable.

Tactical Nuclear Penguin still tastes of cheap sherry blended with lighter fuel, though.

I have to say I am not convienced about this method they us of repeated 'distilling' by freezing.

Just add raw ethanol to a punk dog and be done with it.

I dont understand why a brewery that makes very good, tasty and sucessful beers has to indulge in this cheap commericalism of chasing the strongest beer. Technically as they dont use heat distillation they can call it beer..

but they are not fooling us - right ?

As long as you're talking about it, it's working the way they want.

As John says the gimmicks they are pulling off are allowing the brand to punch way above the weight of their marketing budget, by effectively becoming viral.
