So what's the verdict on the ipa ?

Really hoppy, quite dry. Only has New Zealand hops (Pacifica and Pacific Jade). A seriously good addition to the Irish Pale Ale lineup. Met with Chris (the brewer) nice guy- he was telling us about the Bay's expansion plans and new bottling plant.

Alex bought a Brew Dog Jackhammer, which is meant to be a seriously bitter pale ale (200+ IBUs apparently). It tasted quite tame after the Voyager.

It's available at all the Cottage Group pubs, so no need to make a special journey to the Black Sheep if the Dark Horse is your local.

Between this, Carlow's DIPA, Kindred Spirit, Equinox and Bo Bristles latest PA, it's been a fantastic week for Irish beer.

Yep, it's a tasty drop alright - lots of really waxy citrus bitterness (I got a shedload of zesty lime) - there's no doubt that Chris has chucked some hops in there!
A little bit rough and aggressive (as Andrew said, it made the beast that is Jackhammer seem like an easy drinker!), but massive step in the right direction!

Loving my first pint of this, they really have upped their game with this, the milk stout and the revamped recipes of the original brews. Kudos to the brewer!

Yeah a long time disliker of GB brews but only recently tasted their choc and it was great, will have to revsit their others if they are now better. Looking forward to trying this ipa too
