New one from Dr John today: a quick run through one of England's best beer cities: York[/url:2gkupkxt].

York definitely looks like it deserves a trip. Aside from the great beer mentioned, the traditional pubs appeal to me no end. I love the idea of a pint of ale, a book or the newspaper and some peace and quiet. It's not something that can be found with any degree of ease around Dublin.

I had a bottle of Old Peculiar the other night. It wasn't bad, but I figured it had to be a different beer on cask.

Nice article John. I have been to York on two occasions and liked it very much. Have been to the brewery which is also very enjoyable, especialy the nice cosy members bar there. The breeery also owns a couple of pubs in the city as well. You certainly covered more ground than I did - ssut get back there again sometime.
