Went in Friday night for a few drinks. Like the ubiquitous curates egg, good in parts.
Good:
Range of beers. O'Haras Stout & IPA, Metalman, Howling Gale, Rebel Red, Dark Arts, Deception, Sierra Nevada PA, House stout & lager
Samples readily available
Staff v enthusiastic
Poor:
Prices: Bit on the Dublin side, €5 for Metalman
Decor, large area, empty & barn like
Staff, not v knowledgeable on craft beer, some were not very good a pulling pints.
Band, no need for a band, plus they were awful, not just to my taste but bad.
The poor parts I will put down to teething problems. The best part is that loads more people were introduced to craft beer, particularly Irish ones. One guy in our group (60+) was in love with the O'Haras stout, professing the best he ever had, life long Guinness drinker. Two others, (50ish, life long Guinness drinkers) were openly intimidated by the lack of brands. One stuck to lager the other tried O'Haras stout. Had about 5 pints but complained about everyone of them.
All in all a welcome addition to the Limerick pub scene. They deserve support for being brave enough to take the risk, I'll go back.
