Last Friday while having a Goose Island IPA in the Porterhouse the unique pale green color of the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale bottle label caught my eye. It was on a beer mat, littered on all the tables and bar-tops. I thought it a little strange but continued drinking, understanding that fate had played a part in deciding the next round.

And at the bar I got a great surprise! The barman told me that they had got SNPA on draught just the day before and that it was going down a treat. At €5.20 a pint I quickly ordered 4, almost downing my own before bringing the others to my table.

What a pint! Slightly less potent in aroma and taste than the bottle, its still sweet and hoppy on the tongue with a light malt aftertaste. Beautiful...

I prefer Goose Island IPA, SNPA and their IPA is nice but it dose not have the cascade aroma of Goose Island. But also nice to see it on draft over here and I will have a pint next time I am in the porter house

Does it come in a cool glass, or just the regular tulips?
Pricey pint as well, but I suppose one in the name of research can't hurt...

Regular glass, I´m afraid Ken, but you can ask for the straight, classic ones they use sometimes for the bitter (depends who´s serving you).

At least the beer mats are SNPA!!

I wonder are they going to stock more of their bottle beers (porter and stout) or other American micros as well.

What is the going rate for non-domestic craft beers in Dublin. I know a bottle of SNPA is around that much in the Porterhouse, so surely that's not bad value for a pint.
