For food I would recommend Paul Rankin's Cayenne (if it's still open...). They did a super lunch deal when I was in Belfast this time last year, hard to fault.

The crown is a must visit anyway and I'll probably give Bridge House a miss. Never been that big a fan of 'spoons. The John Hewitt is now down as a possible.

I really like the look of Bittle's, but I'm not sure about slumming it on the beer front.

[/quote:4ndadxup]On my first visit I drank keg Old Brewery (only time seeing Samuel Smith's beer served in a non-Samuel-Smith's pub). Second time, drank bottled Belfast Black. It's also just around the corner from The Kitchen which alleges Whitewater casks.

The John Hewitt is a good spot for lunch, very busy during the week at any rate.

Foodwise, if you want to push the boat out, Id recommend Deanes and The Brasserie at the Malmaison. There's also a very good TexMex restaurant nearly opposite the Europa hotel but I can't remember the name of it.

As for things to do- the W5 at the Odyssey will keep you occupied for the day- my kids give it a full five stars <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

I was in Belfast a few weekends ago and found it extremely poor for craft beer. All I could get my hands on were some Erdinger & Shepards Neame Bottles. I was in Cork recently as well and found it to be the best place outside Dublin for Irish Craft Beer.
