Personally i like them but it does seem to be a bit of a marmite beer. I thought the best of the bunch was the rum cask aged beer that they did yum yum.

Just passed on the info as I got it, am aware of the background re no brewery and will at least try to find out who the guy is - at the tasting!!!

Partook of the sampling of Innis and Gunn on Saturday night in the Bierhaus.

Must say the guy and girl promoting it (full time Innis and Gunn staff in Edinburgh) were very open and friendly. The guy had no problem in saying it is brewed by Bellhaven and matured in bourbon casks. Also told me that in the UK they have released it in rum cask and that they cold consider same in Ireland if demand for it. I asked him about it being matured in Scotch malt casks but he said most of this is done on special orders for the Swedish market and not generally avalable in the UK.

From a tastlng view that night I could not taste much as after a few really decent stouts at the time. I am sure I have told you all nothing that you don't know already but suffice to say they were upfront and open and not bluffing about the Innis and Gunn Brewery!!!!!

I just picked up a 33cl bottle to give it another go and you know, I liked it this time.

So either my taste buds are now more in tune with that style of beer or as I suspected, The bottle was skunky the last time I had it.

This time I got a lot of vanilla and it was quite sweet. The oaky taste was not too in my face and worked quite well.

Last time I had it, the beer went down the drain.

I will have to blog about my experience as I took a picture of it and had it with a cheese plate <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Have to say I really like this stuff - I'd be interested in trying some of the rum or scotch malt casks as well if anyone can get their hands on it.
